At the Executive Committee meeting
in Nimes (FRA) on 31st October 2001, it was proposed that a new discipline
be accepted: artistic fencing, which is a spectacular means of promoting
our sport. Artistic Fencing
is defined as "the artistic practice of fencing in all its forms in
public".
A World championship of Artistic Fencing, for which a set of rules would be established, could be organized at the same time as the World Championships. The national federations would, therefore, be invited to form artistic fencing departments, bringing together artistic fencing professionals, within their structures. |
